The Highland Cattle are a Native Breed who are slow to mature. Our cattle are naturally grown on. They have Somerset grass all Spring, Summer and hopefully Autumn, until our ground becomes too wet as we live on the Somerset Levels. They come in then to our big and airy barns to live on hay and haylage for the winter months.The texture and taste of the Highland meat is beautifully succulent. Our steers are bought on slowly for their succulent meat and we have a year long supply. The majority of our customers buy from our walk in freezer, that way they can have as little or as much as they like.We stock Mince Beef, Stewing Beef, liver, Slow cook joints as Brisket, Chuck Roll and Leg of Mutton together with other cuts of Topside, Top Rump and Silverside.For the Barbeque- beautiful home made beefburgers and steaks.The meat can be bought in larger quantities as required just give us a ring for the prices and availability.

The Gloucester Old Spot pigs are a very gentle breed which produce succulent meat with a layer of fat, for the flavour.Our pigs for the good months of the year are free range, wandering around the fields with the Highland Cattle and horses. Through the bad months they are housed in concrete pens with beautiful straw beds. On the Somerset Levels the ground becomes very water logged, which the pigs are not happy with.The Gloucester Old Spots are butchered by Stuart and if you would like 1/2 a pig, this can be cut exactly the way you would like.The joints are all labelled and packed ready for the freezer.These can be supplied fresh or frozen.Otherwise in our freezer we stock Pork Mince, Belly Pork, Pork spare Ribs, Pork Chops and Pork Steaks, Pork Burgers, Gammon steaks. We also make our own tasty pork sausages, streaky bacon, back bacon and gigot bacon.

Contact us for availability.Highland CattleOur pedigree and registered highland Bull ‘McDougall’ lives with us permanently so during the year we sell the young heifers born when they are weaned at 6 months old. All the heifers are pedigree and registered with the Highland Cattle Society.They are sold to different environments and are used extensively in conservation areas the South West.
